1. | Monday, 28th January – Tuesday, 29th January 2019 – Jogja Site Visit Trip | ||
During our 2 days of Jogjakarta site visit, we will learn how the government effort to combat current account deficit (CAD) through boosting tourist inbound arrival. INDO government is trying to increase number of foreign tourist arrival to 20 million in 2019 from 12 million in 2018 as they expect to increase tourist revenue to USD2bn from the current revenue of USD1.2bn. We will visit local tourist office, Tourism Authority of Borobudur, and the contractor of Kulonprogo Airport, which will is expected to host 15mn passengers per year. From the tech angle, Jogjakarta is the talent source to indo tech companies, which host more than 100 universities. We will visit incubator from the 2 big university in Jogjakarta to better understand the supply talent source for the tech companies as well as to see the dynamic of tech companies outside indo capital city, Jakarta. Lastly, we will visit Jamu Air Mancur factory in outskirt of Solo to gauge the area benefits post Jokowi Trans-Java Toll Road completion.

People say Indonesian Millennials are hard to understand: they drink artisan coffee every day, they take memorable trips to Earth’s best landscapes, they are short on cash by the end of every month, but life still goes on. The changing lifestyle of this prominent population group affects conventional consumer-related businesses more than ever, and understanding how Millennials think and decide can uncover new trends and investment opportunities. In our full-day Millennials visit, we take you around Millennials’ recent favorites for daily transportation, F&B, health, and space-sharing; our trip is also hosted by a prominent social media influencer to help us understand why certain business models are more appealing than others and to help us see the fun sides of life.

Track 2 (Micro Lending and Subsidized Housing Site Visit) | |||
In our Micro Lending and Subsidized Housing Site Visit, we will explore the grass roots of BBRI’s micro lending business and the process of BBTN’s subsidized mortgage disbursement. Through the two site visits, we aim to get a better understanding of how the government aims to create a better economic environment for low-income class citizens through the KUR and One Million Housing Program. We will also provide a glimpse of what it is like to become a micro lender and a BRILink agent and the competitive landscape of a low cost housing property developer.
