Jakarta, 9 January 2024 – PT Mandiri Sekuritas (Mandiri Sekuritas/Company) launched Layanan Investasi #SerbaSyariah (#EverythingSyariah investment services) through a collaboration with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI). In this occasion, BSI also launched its sharia compliant online account opening  for customer funds (Rekening Dana Nasabah/RDN), the first one in Indonesia. With this collaboration, customers can invest in the sharia capital market and enjoy the convenience of opening online sharia securities accounts through Mandiri Online Securities Trading (MOST) Syariah by Mandiri Sekuritas.

The Muslim population in Indonesia as of 2023 has reached more than 240 million or around 85% of the total population of over 278 million. Meanwhile, data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) shows that the total number of investors in the Indonesian capital market in 2023 has surpassed 12 million. From this number, approximately 137 thousand are sharia stock investors (out of 5 million stock investors). Furthermore, the national Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2022 shows that the financial literacy rate in the Indonesian capital market is at 4% and inclusion rate is at 5.19%. Furthermore, the financial literacy rate for sharia finance in Indonesia is 9.14%, where the conventional financial literacy rate reaches 49.6%.
